So often I hear ...‘but eating healthy is expensive’. Whilst some things can be quite expensive, buying fresh healthy produce doesn’t need to cost a fortune. Whilst we usually shop at our local fruit and veg grocer, I’ve done a shop at Coles to show you how much produce you can get for just over $50. * Bok Choy * Beans * Brussel sprouts * Carrots * Spinach leaves * Bananas * Basil * Broccoli * Butternut pumpkin * Cauliflower * Mushrooms * Sweet potato * Asparagus * Red capsicum * Green capsicum * Yellow capsicum * Lettuce * Zucchini * Avocado * Cucumber * Pink lady apples * Cauliflower rice * Red onions * Tomatoes * Sugar snap peas We already had some left over produce so didn’t need to buy everything. But in saying that, the amount of food shown is huge in comparison to how much can be spent on a single takeaway meal! Obviously this isn’t everything required for the week, but with the addition eggs, meat and dairy totalling around $50, it is easy to have a healthy balanced diet that doesn’t cost a fortune.
